Hi, I’m Carmel! I’ve been working in early childhood education for over 25 years, with more than 10 of those as a Centre Manager.
What drives me every day is building strong, trusting relationships with families and creating a warm, welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and confident to grow. I believe early learning is most powerful when it’s connected to the home and community. That’s why I prioritise open communication with families; we’re partners in your child’s learning journey. I love seeing children thrive through play-based experiences that nurture their curiosity, independence, and wellbeing.
Supporting my team is something I’m equally passionate about. I encourage ongoing reflection and professional growth so that our programs remain meaningful, inclusive, and aligned with each child’s unique needs.
Emotional development is especially close to my heart. Helping children build resilience, empathy, and a strong sense of self during these formative years is incredibly rewarding.

I couldn’t be happier that we chose the fern to send our toddler. All of the staff are so welcoming, the meals are great and the activity’s they do every day are amazing! Being a new center too it’s clean and super nice! Highly recommend.

I have visited The Fern Early Learning Centre as a Speech Pathology Assistant. It is a lovely, welcoming centre with engaged educators who are committed to supporting communication development! The facilities are fantastic and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!
